Allerton Park, Monticello, IL
I’ve known dear Kortnie for years. Our families have been close from the moment they’ve met (which is easy being that they live two doors down from my father’s home) and when Kortnie found her forever love, it was so exciting! I hadn’t gotten many chances to meet Joe before their engagement session, but I had heard nothing but great things about him from Kortnie. She simply lights up when she talks about him, and as I learned during their session, she even lights up when she’s with him! These two know how to have fun and it shows in their engagement photos!
The barns of Allerton Park and Retreat Center are a rare treat for me to visit. Most of the time clients are in it for the mansion photos or unique landscape opportunities, but Kortnie and Joe wanted to mix rustic and elegant, and I think they did just that! Joe is in the Army, and Kortnie is such a proud military supporter so it was only natural that we included such a big part of their lives in the photos. It’s also for the same reason that you’ll see some super cute furry friends in a few shots, because we couldn’t just leave the pups at home!
We shot until sundown, and then some, and I love the look of every image! I cannot WAIT to be there to help celebrate Kortnie + Joe’s wedding day come 2019, it’s going to be awesome! Enjoy some of my favorites from their engagement session!
